Actually, I know exactly what ***** means by scapular loading (but don't know if I buy his distinction between scap loading and hyperflexion).

Scap loading means retracting the scapulae (e.g. pinching the shoulders) so as to stretch muscles like the Serratus Anterior. This is supposed to then allow that and other muscles to then powerfully exert force in the opposite direction and increase the rate and force with which the arm is able to internally rotate.

The problem is that in general this motion is often accompanied by the moving the elbows behind the acromial plane (basically the back) which can place significant stress on the rotator cuff and lead to an injury to the subscapularis.

I do see how this is relevant to pitching but don't see how it's relevant to hitting since, if you buy the rotational hitting model, the rear elbow should be locked to the side of the torso and power is generated by the rotation of the hips, torso, and shoulders around the front leg.
Coach Chris,

This was the original question posed by hsballcoach that I responded to:

"Still trying to get more of an idea about this. Do you scapula load by flexing the muscles in your back, or by how you are placing your hands and rear elbow? Or is everyone else a little in the dark on this as well?

This was my response:

"Both. Very similar to boxing and loading up for a good punch. IMO."

Just clarifying, the question was not "where does Tyson's power come from?"

As for power generation - you forgot Tyson's legs.

I find the arm and scap action is also VERY similar to the details of loading for overhand throw,up to a point, the point of unloading.

Of course, things are different becasue there is the symmetrical scap action in throwing where the arms are separated as opposed to having to hold a heavy bat with both hands, but the arm sequence of both arms is the same, just staggered instead of symmetric so the front and back shoulder/arms have a more reciprocal than symmetric action - one elbow down/other up/one scap down, other up (pointed out well by Epstein among others).

Still, the motions are extremely similar,to the point that if you learn to throw well, your body will be likely use the same sequencing in hitting which is what helps coil/twist the body well(synchronized thigh/hip and arm/shoulder action to create good resistance/coil dynamics)/connect the bat well/keep torso from flying open/spinning,etc.

The detailed arm action teaching approach has certainly been found to work in throwing/pitching. I find it is helpful in hitting too.But that could just be me.

Of course, you don't have access to see all the ones that "do get it", or "are getting it".

Your level of honesty won't get you access.

No if about it. This explains it.

Your integrity barely hits the guage. It's flickering.

Hey I didn't coach and post Smoot. I didn't post him again and blame Steve.

I will be honest. I don't think he is the best they have to offer. Steve told me that himself. I don't know why he (Paul) put him back up. He must want us to see it again...this IS a public forum. Did you see the clip of Steve..don't you think Ny-man cooks the clips...living proof that clip was designed to hurt Steve not be HONEST. He did that all the time with MLB players and other things

That should make your flame flicker concerning being a little disingenuous. Look what the people you followed aree capable of doing to each other. You don't see Epstein or Mankin doing that. Too much class.

I sort of think Paul cannot copyright three words...posture , connect , rotate. What say ye'

And who is the posse?

My level of honest denied me access?

Honesty is what blocked my access.

I said " If Paul keeps shutting his site down will hurt himself". That is what got me blocked Linear.

Now was that honest or what? Right or wrong statement' slanderous or mean staement?
