I'd be interested in comments on this, myself....I have definite opinions on this....

How 'bout you, Diablo????...You know anything 'bout scapula load?

Or, do you just drink Mike's Kool-Aid?

Yeah, I'm surprised too! I thought this would be another great discussion like the "movement in the swing" thread was.

I'm not trying to start an arguement here, I just want some opinions. If folks want to PM me to avoid that, it's fine with me. I just want to see if my opinion of the practice coincides with others.

not that i agree with LA on anything... but you can't talk scapula load if you aren't going to discuss adduction/abduction of the humerus...

What about the clavicle and it's effect on that movement? BTW, I believe that in the high level swing, the hands put the bat in motion. If they didn't, most of the stretch would be lost at swing initiation.
power- are you just talking about the clavicle and scapula within the pec girdle? if so, okay they connect arms to torso... and? Confused

I think you might have meant sternoclavicular joint, which is the only articulation between arms and axial skeleton....

So did you want to know the important functions of it or what? it holds arms away from torso... gives arms maximum freedom of motion... blah blah blah...

that is why it is talked more about with pitching...

why would you discuss that with a player you are working with? and if you could, elaborate on how you would work it in to lesson....

btw, we can talk A&P all day... was my minor...
