Hi ladies, this is my oldest son, and 1st to leave home. I was so excited when he decided on a College near home, that I would be able to watch him play. Than all the other started SmileNow this is like a wind blowing thru. I feel for him that this is a decision (good or bad) that he is going to have to make, that will affect him for the rest of his life. We are very supportative with what ever he decides, I just have to find inner power, to be excited (which I am) but on the same shoe scared to death.
Thanks for letting me share. Razz

Josh's mom ...

One thing that brought comfort to me, and I am sure to many other players' parents, is remembering that no matter WHERE they decide to go, they are entering college as part of an established group. So many college students these days head out, not knowing anybody, and can become easily influenced by other students who may not be making wise decisions. As in high school, where it helps keep students focused when they are a part of SOME group ... likewise at college, when they are part of a team effort, I think they have a little added "protection".

I do realize that some sports may not foster a healthy attitude and approach to college, but every player we know who has gone on to play baseball in college has become part of an established "fraternity" with "senior advisors" who happen to be baseball coaches with good intentions only.

Just keep comin' here for support ... we have all been there.
