I think walk-ons should phrase this question kinda like, "What do I need to do to earn some scholarship money?".  Most answers that I can anticipate also would reveal if there is any money available.

Of course, even if money isn't available today, things can always happen before the July 1 deadline to confirm money offers in D1.

Good answer.....I was always told that if you want something you need to ask for it,.....and if you ask for it, you need to know what you need to do to make it happen.....

I think this is where we let our boys become men....they need to have  open, honest and frank dialogues with their coaching staff......

I recommend waiting until after he walks the walk in the spring.  If he's a major contributor then he has leverage to negotiate for some money.  Congratulations to your son, that take a lot of hard work!

A D1 head coach told us this fall that they reevaluate scholarship $$ allocations after every season, some go up some go down and some are cut completely. It is all based on performance and leadership. I agree with waiting to see what kind of contribution is made but until then work as though a 100% ride is on the line.
