Hey lets lighten things up a bit Smile

I can already see some of our members worken it a bit after the recent MLB draft that saw a record number of hsbbwebster kids drafted. Lets help them out - creatively of course Big Grin

For instance, I don't know if Tiger Paw Mom works so well anymore How about CardinalMom or ILoveTonyLaRussaMom Big Grin

itsinthegame was worken it in a recent thread. I say keep the monkey avatar its but what about the screen name? How about itsinthheblues? or the JaysRuletheMets?

How about rz1? How about PinstripeDad or IonlyLiketheYankeesWhenmySonisPitchingforThem Big Grin

I see FormerObserver (FO) has changed his avatar to that of the Oakland A's. How about NFO - NowFollowingOakland? or MaybeI'llGrowmyhairlongnowDad

There are tons of them drafted and I have only listed a few off the top of my head. Lets help them all out Smile

Use of the A's avatar was done with the full realization that it was a little over the top, but you just don't know where they will be until they land.

Was headed to Vancouver where he would have played against Orlando's son, now to Kane County, IL, but still not entirely official...............

Here I was just scrolling along, enjoying my morning of HSBBW browsing, when what do I see?!!! The Eugene Ems Logo! Is your son playing for them? We live 3 blocks from civic stadium and my kids have grown up there. Son, the youngest at 13, plays a lot of summer ball, so we don't get to every home game like we used to. But I would be honored to cheer on your player when we get over to a game! My daugher is in her second year of being one of the bbq girls on the concourse. Civic and the Ems are in our blood. Go Ems! (The first words my son spoke, BTW)

Should I change my screen name to "Auntie Em?" Wait a minute, wasn't she an old dried up farm gramma? Hmmm.
My cooking is, umm, basic, shall we say? For my son and his friend, I am making bean and cheese burritos and fresh-picked Oregon strawberries for lunch. My dinners aren't much fancier. I gave hubby a new BBQ for his birthday, so we have been grilling alot lately. Basic dogs, burgers, and steaks. (BTW once you have had an Oregon berry from a local farm, you'll never eat grocery strawberries again. Unfortunately, they have about a 3 - 4 week season)
If any HSBBWsters are ever in Eugene, send an e-mail and we can grill and catch an Ems game together. Or maybe eat from the grill at Civic Stadium!

My older brother is starting up a small hardwood sawmill up above Dorena Reservoir...he wants me to visit some time this summer. I'll try.

I'll let you know if I'm headed that way...I don't recall having any outstanding warrants in Lane Co. They will allow a right-of-center fellow like myself into the county won't they?

And those strawberries...you're right. I used to pick 'em for money back in grade school and junior high (Salem area). Six hallocks to a flat if I recall correctly. They paid us about three bucks for a flat. I always ate way more in the field it seems than I turned in for money! Didn't make too much money...didn't get fat and sassy either...just sassy!

Hey. GWFS (Woody?) if you'll ignore my bumperstickers, I'll ignore yours! We are all sides of center here, so you'll fit right into the stew that is Lane County. And the truly great thing about an Ems game, is the wide assortment of folks there. From dreadlocked smellies to old lumberjacks, moms with babies, old ladies with their score books...I love baseball!

Well let's see...I'm getting my dreadlocks shorn shortly...I've been known to smell...I've known old lumberjacks...had a couple of moms...babies are cool...and as for old ladies...scorebooks or BINGO cards...no matter...old ladies are cool as well. I guess I could manage a night watching the Ems and Orlando's son. It'd be fun!

And as for that bumpersticker. I've heard there is a carwash in Lane County where you can actually soak those rascally bumperstickers off...this place is clean and pristine...uses fresh water, none of that dirty water that is re-used constantly...and the attendants really know their way around the water...
