My wife and I were blindsided by a guy running a redlight a week ago--without the seat belts who knows where we would be-- mucho damage to the auto but both my wife and I walked away with minor bumps and bruises

Thank goodness there were no serious injuries. Your boys get a free lesson in safety and how you have to drive for yourself and for everyone else out there.

Glad everybody is OK. My daughter hit an off duty cop her first month after she got her license.....it finally rolled off my insurance this month.

We have been very lucky as my son has been driving almost 3 years with no tickets/accidents then this... Thank goodness it wasn't his fault I can't imagine what that would have done to our insurance.......

Thank you to all......this was just a small reminder about safety but it is also a heads up on things that are out of our control...... Just like Tbird Dad said: you can control what you do behind the wheel but you can't control what others do like the kid that pulled the Uturn in front of him, or like those that run red lights...................got to always play the "what if" game all the time..........

Been there done that! Scariest feeling in the world. Especially when the call comes from a bystander. Glad to hear things are ok. My heart goes out to you on this as we delt with this in April of last year. Thank the man upstairs for watching out over these fine young men.

Yes, truly a parents worst nightmare that dreaded call........

Remind your boys that if they ever have to make that call, and we hope they never, ever do,,,,,,,,,,,to try and remember to start the conversation off with:

hard to remember in a time like that but it really is calming.
