That's exactly right. Tyler is the MVP This continually happens to the so called non prospects that are deemed that title even after proving it wrong I bet most guys drafted he same year as Tyler in earlier rounds are gone What wil the powers to be say when he makes the bigs next year oh he is just a back up player blah blah I don't read any of that pipelines stuff to me it discounts players like Tyler and many others who have done well.

CD- Congratulations! Very happy for your son and the whole family (just another reason to stay healthy).
Not to redirect this happy thread, but I've been thinking lately about the whole "performance vs tools" debate (no my wife didnt start it). I'm not saying this debate even applies here because one, I've never seen Tyler play and two I'm sure he is a toolsy player (being CD's son gives me all the data I need).
Nevertheless, when I watch some players out perform others over a long period of time (not a show case environment)but the "others" get the high prospect rating -from whatever source- you begin to question some aspect of whatever goes into the ratings system.
We all know what the tools are but at the end of the day, you need to apply them. And over a period of time, a player "playing above his tools" needs to be recognized for what he is- a talented baseball player achieving results and not dismissed as a flash in the pan while people in the know wait for the higher pedigreed others to begin to play up to their tools.
Just an observation. Again, congrats to the CD clan.

I don't want to hijack this thread either but since CD brought it up I have to respond to this. Everyone of us who have a son or had a son play through HS and college and into pro ball knows this full well. Projection, upside, projectibility, body make up, high waisted, good face, blood lines, potential on and on it goes. But the BOTTOM LINE IS and always will be performance. Does the player get the job done or not? At some point and time that is the only thing that matters. Now I understand that some players will never get a shot or will only get a token shot because someone doesn't think they have all of those traits above. And some players will continue to get shot after shot because they do have those traits listed above.
In Tylers case since this thread is about him the bottom line is he does what you want a player to do and the only thing that ultimately matters. He performs. He gets the job done. All he has to do is keep doing what he loves to do. Keep grinding it. Never give in and never give up. His performance and ability to simply play the game will win out.
In the end its about performance. Its about results. Give the award to anyone you want to. Rank them any way you want to rank them. I will take performance all day long. And in the end so will the people that matter to Tyler. And that is what really matters.

Congrats to Tyler - wow what a performance! And I'm guessing the people who really matter (D'backs) voted him the MVP!
Way to go, Tyler!
