Hello all,

Since I live in the great white north I was wondering if this would be a good Idea.
This Summer is going to be my sophomore summer. Next year seeing as it will be my Junior year do you guys suggest that I send Tapes to schools in the US?....seeing that I wont get as much as exposure as kids living their. This year my summer team is going to a tournament in Buffalo NY and in Ottawa..That isnt to much exposure.
Also 1 of my coaches played for the UK's National Team and The other One was on a full Scholarship To Texarkana and later went to Lousiana St. on a full Scholarship....So they also have ties with coaches down south.
So is it a good Idea?
When would be a good time to be sending these?
What format would I send them in? on a DVD? Youtube Link?
What should I include in hese tapes.

You should start out sending an email to all the coaches at the schools you fit in. Ask if they want a tape after you tell them about yourself, usually unsolicited tapes get trashed. Start putting a tape together after your summer season. DVD is still the standard but video links are getting popular. Make the tape about 3-5 minutes long ...include 8 to 10 swings, some defense - fielding throwing or a few angles on the mound if you pitch. No game film, just show off your mechanics.

And understand that tapes are used to 'exclude" players, so send a good tape. Have a coach look at it first.

I assume that any tape that was sent would be edited to highlight the player (and coaches know this) and that the video should be clear, high quality shots. So, what on a tape would cause a coach to 'exclude' a player? (Other than the obvious things like horrible mechanics etc).

Just trying to avoid any mistakes that are obvious to all of you but not to me...
