Prayers needed for this young man's family. I love the city of San Francisco, but hate some of the things that happen here. This is so random, but hits home just because he was a baseball player. My son's summer team played against him this summer.
Sometimes I just don't understand how & why things like this happen!

Prayers for his family and loved ones. This saddens me and also angers me.
I always worried about things like this will happen to Pokémon Go players. Every night in our downtown park, there are hundreds of kids roaming around playing Pokémon. If someone yell out a rare Pokemon's name, all kids run towards him. What if a terrorist find this out? He can easily lure the kids over and detonate a bomb.
Terrible story, just a waste. That being said terrorists using pokemon to facilitate an attack on the general public seems to be a bit unlikely.
Yes, this is definitely terrible. Though we didn't know the young man or his family personally, we know a number of people who did -- bay area baseball being a small world. He was an incredibly good guy from all reports, a well-loved teammate, and fierce competitor who really loved the game. Many people around here are devastated by his death.
Incredibly sad! My friends son was set to play with him at school! Prayers to all involved!

The bigger danger is probably being run over by a car while blindly chasing pokemons while staring on your phone (no kidding, it actually did happen).
Very sad that this guy got killed but in this case I don't think it had anything to do with pokemon, he just was at the wrong time in the wrong place, could have happened doing something else there too.
RIP.
Just horrible. He pitched against my son's team last year and would probably contribute again this year....promising future. Baseball player or not, just sad.
UPDATE!
I was at a baseball function the other day. They had a guest speaker. It was Sean Riley, the father of Calvin Riley who was shot back in August. This man has the courage that I certainly don't think I could have so soon after his loss. He spoke to a group of baseball players & parents. He spoke of his sons love of the game, his work harder then anyone attitude and of how much he misses his son.
I wish that I could share more of his story from that night but my emotions just won't allow me.
I felt this post necessary only after I posted that my son was off to his worst start ever this year. Perspective!
Hug your kids and continue to pray for this family! RIP Calvin
PS...They have yet to catch the person who committed this crime.
