I saw Socorro play this year. Very sound defensive team.

It amazes me how the number one team in the state doesn't make the national top 50. I'm not upset about it but it makes me laugh.
I think Infield got it right,

Congratulations to all the teams on the list!!!

I think you have to give PG some credit for their attempt:

Atascosita went from Not Rated to #19 in the country, Alvin (TX #1 in the first THSBCA Poll) from Not Rated to # 24,Arl Martin went from Not Rated to #46 and San Antonio Reagan went from Nor Rated to #50.

Polls are not a science they are an opinion, PG is tracking CyFair - they were #5 then #6 and now down to #34, Coppell was # 66 then not rated and now #38.

I have no doubt that Socorro, Plano West and Rowlett will make the poll as the season progresses and PG gathers more information.

Again Congratulations to the teams on the list!!!!

Does anyone know if the records for Rowlett and Alvin are correct?
Ummm....their winning % against 4A teams is as good as against 5A teams? Your best Plano West friend would agree that their preseason schedule was weak, with the exception of a few of the McKinney teams. Smile

And with no disrespect to Plano West (they are my friends), it is clear that the national pools are based on record -- and not much else. You can't get better than a record with an 0 on the right-hand side.

I'll tell you what I told my little friend from West. Is there a state with much better high school baseball than Texas? Maybe California or Florida, so if you are 28-0 in Texas, where else should you be in the nation? 1, 2, or 3 sounds about right to me. Congratulations West! Most people will justify what you have done, weak non-district or weak district.....all I know is most teams could play the last place team in their district 28 times and probably lose 3 or 4. So keep up the good work and keep it going!
As I type this ( cry) I truly have tears in my eyes. PDsonIII is one of the great players in DFW! PDsonIII was new comer of the year as a freshman, all district as a Jr. and Sr. and will most likely be recognized as one of the better players in the area when the smoke clears this year. More importantly, PDsonIII is a GREAT kid off the field. PDsonIII will continue his baseball career at Missouri, and I look forward to watching him play at the next level. Me and my family have been blessed to know PD and his family (way before D**T).

PD, get those boys fired up for playoffs...they can still make deep playoff run during this season!!!

We love you guys,

Kirk
Thank you kirk for the kind words. I apologize if it seemed like I was taking a shot at PW. For those of you that don't recognize our good-natured kidding at times, kirk is one of my best friends and Robert is a good friend as well. We like to duck and weave here. Cool

This thread is about TEAM -- not specific players -- and I truly want to congratulate Plano West for an amazing regular season. Wow -- 28-0 -- unbelievable! Perfect. To this point, they're perfect. It's hard to grasp. And the Wolves deserve their many accolades. Congratulations to the Rowlett Easgles as well --- working on finishing up an undefeated season in 10-5A. It would be amazing to see PW against Rowlett for a trip to Roundrock. I know that thought is premature.....but it could happen. I'm proud of the kids I know on those teams....Kale, Jason, Harrison, Brandon, Chase and others.

To all playoff teams ---- welcome to the tournament. Only a few teams finish their seasons with wins......good luck to all.

Thats-a-balk, don't know if you are having some fun or not? So all know, when I said I was typing with tears in my eyes I meant it. Their is only one player that I have coached/managed more games for that PDsonIII and that would be my own son.

It seems like only yesterday that PDsonIII was nick naming all the players on our 10U team. Seems like yesterday that a certain no. 10 (from Rowlett), who played for a rival team, was asking if PDsonIII was going to pitch against them...he was hoping not. It seems like yesterday that I was afraid that I had over pitched PDsonIII and hurt his arm. Yesterday, my son and PDsonIII played their last regular season baseball games. So excuse me if I recognize an individual player on here (who I know as well as I know my own son) I know he has earned it!

There's no Crying in baseball!!!!!!!

More important -- When does PE play Wylie??
Kirk,

No excuses needed! Those of us who know you know you love those kids! I remember when you use to kiss every one of those boys on the head right out there on the ball field in front of God and everybody.

It is very difficult realizing it's over...wow...that field we longed to play on for all those years is now behind us (Mckinney has one more home game).

Keep the memories and accolades coming!

Below are Texas programs listed in the 5/2 Rivals.com Fab 50 list:

#1 Plano West
#6 Corpus Christi Calallen
#13 San Antonio Reagan
#20 Corpus Christi Moody
#25 Rowlett
#28 Humble Atascosita
#36 Alvin
#37 Arlington Martin
#49 Coppell

Interestingly, 4 teams are from D-FW, 3 teams are from South Texas, and only 2 teams are from the Houston area -- markedly different than past years.
