shorter bat for practice

Recently I've moved from using a 32 inch -3 aluminum bat to a 33 inch -3 aluminum bat. I have a wood bat which I use for practice that is 32 inches, and minus 2 weight My question is will using a bat that is an inch shorter, but the same weight as my game bat, in practice hurt my swing, or maybe even help it because it has a smaller sweet spot?

No, it won't hurt. Wood with it's smaller "sweet spot" provides you with immediate feedback on how well you are centering the baseball and will only enhance your game performance with aluminum.
