Just want some reassurance/thoughts from folks outside of my circle. My 2019 has played the last 2 summers for a well recognized national travel organization and had opportunities, on occasion, to perform in front of big time D1 coaches. Although he always performed well, he was not the show pony in his organization or even on his team. In hind sight, he was not quite ready from a Velo standpoint, and lets face it, without the right numbers on the gun, no further discussions will be had.
He has made significant increases in velocity (7 mph) over the past 3 and 1/2 months and now sits in the mid to upper 80's. All of this work has been on his own, in the gym and with his pitching coach. He is a 2 sport athlete so football takes his time in the fall and he does not try to compete at both at the same time. He is blessed with size (6'6" 225 lbs.) and now has the velo to go with it. My question is, should we just wait until summer to "show off" or try to push in some camps before the HS season starts? He is playing a great schedule, with a "different" national travel organization and will have a lot of opportunity in front of the right people this summer, but I don't want to miss an opportunity by waiting too long..Thoughts?
