What do you have? I've made some posts in the past about injuries in general, strength/conditioning, long toss, overuse, etc. What questions do you have for me?

I'm looking at a new blog post and I'd like to address some of your questions. Let me know! Possibly a few blog articles and maybe some more HSBBW radio down the road..

I will give you one: My 17 year old had labrum repair at the end of July (no rotator cuff or bicep tendon involvement). Started throwing program last week. Mostly good but in say 50-75 throws he says occasionally he will get a pain that "shoots down and into triceps" arm then feels "dead" for a few seconds but continues to finish throws without much problem. What is this? Is it "normal"? Anything to be concerned about?

Saints,
I will defer to Bulldog19 on the pain, shooting pain and dead arm feeling.
What would be of concern, based on all the reading and research I did when our son was trying to recover from labrum/slap surgery and following the throwing/rehab protocol of his MLB team, is 50-75 throws one week after starting the throwing program. It seems quite aggressive.
Good point. I don't have the papers in front of me but it's an interval throwing program. Started with 2 sets of 25 throws at 45 feet and after 2-3 sessions of that add another set of 25 throws. "dead arm" feel is his words to describe it. But like I said it's not constant nor does it keep him from finishing or you can look and tell anything is wrong
Long story short...
Son had shoulder instability issues due to overuse. And the situation of overuse...is a long story, that could have / should have been prevented. Son was sitting at mid 80's - high 80's during his junior and senior year in High School. Shut down some of his Junior year, and most of his Senior, after his elbow popped, and had TJ surgery in the Summer after graduation. Had a MRI of his shoulder the Summer before his Senior year. Nothing found. Worked with Private Trainers & Instructors, and PT rehab.
In college now as a Medical Redshirt, where he was recruited and signed a letter if intent as a Pitcher. Son is also a utility player with speed. But, scollege wanted him as a Pitcher and for him to have the TJ surgery. 6 months into TJ rehab, and doing very well. But, he felt enough discomfort and pain in his shoulder, that he brought it up to College Trainer and College Doctor.  His Ortho Surgeon has scheduled a MMA, I had never heard if it, supposed to be better than a MRI.
College Baseball Coach is sympathetic with him, and Ortho Dr., still is not concerned with his rehabs and being ready for 2015 Spring, 2014 Fall would be out now with recovery times.
Anyone else experienced with having had both shoulder and elbow injury, and coming back successfully as a College Pitcher?

I sincerely hope that all of the injuries in this blog have been taken care of and everyone is doing much better. I high encourage everyone to look at Crossover Symmetry as a form of rehabilitation/injury prevention and performance gains. A lot of the times, pain in the elbow will come from improper strengthening of the shoulder. Just as in the case with mechanics, if a knee is injured the pitcher will overcompensate in another area and in the long run injure something else. I had some athletes suffer from moderate shoulder and elbow problems. After a good amount of research into the topic, I cam across Crossover. Now the same athletes no longer complain about any shoulder problems, being that the system works the Scapula then rotator cuff, but they have all picked up an average of 4 mph!!! Again, I highly recommend this product.
