I went to the doc for some pain in my shoulder and he diagnosed me with tendonitis. This was a bit ago so I was hopin I'd be good to go by the time summer league comes around but I'm still not. So my question to you guys is tendonitis that serious to where you shouldn't play until the pain is gone? Or can I play through it while still doing my physical therapy routines?

Hey Bulldogs, Our Westside Warriors have been playing some pretty fun games to watch against your 9 year olds.

What kind of doc? What tendon? How was the diagnosis made? How long is a bit ago?

Normally, no don't play with tendonitis. You are not going to decrease the inflammation in the tendon doing the activity that caused it in the first place.

Tendinitis is usually from overuse or a combination of overuse and poor mechanics. Rest with P.T. as prescibed by your Doctor usually promotes full recovery. Throwing will only prolong the recovery period. Rest and the process of tissue regeneration (critical in the life of a baseball player) is different for everyone. Unfortunately it's trial and error till you find out what works for you. Our experience is tendinitis is not something to fool around with but cures easily under doctors orders.
