Yep!
If a school is on the target list email the coach a week before the event stating you will be there. Provide any information to help ID yourself appearance wise.
Was any explanation provided? My son attended the Mid-Atlantic Top96 earlier in the month, and the coaching list was updated fairly regularly leading up to the event, and I didn't notice that anyone was missing during the event (at least not among the DIIIs, which is where he's looking).
We had a couple of scheduling hiccups (generally related to his being a PO), but nothing major and he was definitely able to get the exposure he was looking for, though he had followed RJMs advice and reached out to the top 4 or 5 coaches he wanted to connect with there ahead of time.
Is it a two day event? Has your son attempted to contact the coaches today? Any chance they will be there tomorrow?
Or maybe it was just showcase half truth marketing on attendance to get your money.

This is a real possibility. Coach at a school my son was targeting was at day 1 of a showcase/camp event but not at day two. Kid contacted coach in advance, since his presence there was the only reason for the kid to attend.
Fortunately, the coach informed us up front that he would be around for Day 1, but not Day 2 when the kid communicate that he would be in attendance and was looking forward showing his stuff.
Day 1 of this particular camp was completely instruction oriented with coaches manning various stations. Day 2 was focused on measurable and games. Target coach was there for that instruction part, even ran a drill at one of the stations. But wasn't there for the metrics and games the following day.
We still thought it was worth his while to go, though in the end it didn't work out with that particular school. (This was late in the recruiting game, when he had narrowed his focus to certain top D3 baseball schools.)
