So there is a PBR event I am looking to attend but it falls on the day before my school starts tryouts but im not sure if its a good idea to attend or not. Chances are that I dont throw the first day as thats mostly kids who the coach is not familiar with. I dont want to hurt my performance on the day I throw in tryouts because I threw in a showcase but this is one of the larger events that PBR puts on in my state aside from the future games so I would like to participate if possible (a few other pitchers from my team are already going) and would like to hear any opinions on what would be the better decision. Im leaning towards going for it but am still unsure

ask your HS coach to go along to the showcase.  He gets to see you and your teammates in comparison to some of the better players in the area.  Does he know your intent of playing in college? Just having the conversation with the HS coach has got to earn you some interest points.

Good luck and have a great season.

I would hope if you are going to a showcase its because you are of the ability to do so in which case making a cut should not be a concern.  I would definitely go but agree with others.  Tell him!  I loved it when my guys went to showcases.  Even if it was in season while I was less enthusiastic about it I love seeing players giving themselves a chance to get to the next level.  The idea of inviting him was an outstanding one.  Including him in your process shows him you value his involvement in your baseball life.  Whether he actually goes or not it is a win for you.
