Well folks, the BlueDog is shutting it down.....Retiring.....

There is some work/research I need to do....I'm in the process of changing my teaching methods.....

In closing, I will say there are many ways to hit.....Many people to learn from....And, nobody has all the answers...I would suggest to listen to everyone and check what they have to say to video....The model to emulate is the MLB hitter......Chase the Holy Grail of hitting, but make sure you never find it..... hi

BlueDog,

You are exactly right; there are many ways to hit and many folks to learn from. I continue to change what I teach if I believe it elevates the player's game. We are always learning.

You have provided many many interesting discussion and have made me think, and that is hard to do at my age. Big Grin

We will hear from you again I hope after you get it sorted out. Thanks for your contribution and best of luck. See you at the yard someday.

I believe this to be a sad day for all of us should Bluedog decide to leave. Having a variety of opinions on this site makes us all better. Personally, I've never met Bluedog nor know much about him. However, I consider him a friend. I know that he gets frustrated since he is often the recipient of attacks. I also know he has handed out a few. Do not discard that in that time, he has also challenged us to think. The other day, one poster mentioned that Bluedog, Infopimp... (Richard), and I were all "disciples" of that one guy. NOW THAT'S STRANGE! However, I'd say that Bluedog and I think a lot alike though our terms are different. Sure he disagrees with some of what we do but as he once mentioned, he isn't going to try to change the world. We've agreed to share thoughts and show mutual respect. I wish more would follow that path. I sure hope that some posters aren't celebrating should Bluedog decide to leave. Should he make that decision, I know I'll miss his contributions.

oddly enough, i completely agree.

I agree also....However, I think it can be a big mistake to try to mix a little of this with a little of that etc. I'm a "find someone (or something) you trust and BUY IN " kind of guy. But keep looking for something better. That's what I do here.

Bluedog and other absent participants,

Don't know if you and others still read anything here at this site but would like to say that your input here was "valuable" and some benefited from it. Even us oldies, like myself.

The secrets of becoming a great hitter are all right here in these hitting threads and there for the taking for anyone who wants to become great if that person is willing to read, seek, and apply knowledge through trial and error application. You guys played a big part in that.

Bluedog and others, you sparked many minds here and your input as well as presence will always be remembered, at least by me, until your return. Hope you take it up even a LEVEL higher, if possible upon your return. (For the benefit of the lifers here who would like to continue to seek that Holy Grail of Hitting.)

My prayers are that you guys will find more to share with us during your sabbaticals because guess what, I know you guys will never get past this will to search, investigate, and explore the areas of teaching and learning in baseball related movements. It's in your minds, hearts and souls, forever. Can't leave it, no matter how hard you might try. It will creep back in and take control of your very existence when rekindled or sparked by those who truly love this game above all controversy, personalities, media extravaganzas. There is truly a ban of brothers out here who will promote players of baseball, prospects of baseball, organizations and establishments of baseball, forever and ever, amen. Can't help it. Engrained forever.

Here is a little something to listen to at one of my favorite baseball lifer's domain at this site>peace and good luck to all
Click this, close your eyes, and just listen and think about ole Shep>
