Runner on first, no outs. Second batter pulls hit down left line. R1 is thrown out at 3rd. Neither runner stops running on play. Single or double?
Same facts, except, game is played in drizzling rain. R1 slows to make turn at 2b to keep from slipping on wet ground. Does this change scoring.
Thanks
Saw this over the weekend. My initial impression would have been to score a double, but the more I thought about it, the more I lean towards a single and advance on the throw. Off the bat, I thought it was a double all the way with runners on second and third. I was surprised when the runner was out at 3b, and it wasn't close, due to the slowing down to make the turn at 2b.
