My Son had an offer from them 3 years ago, and we continue to follow them as we know several of the kids on the team.

They finished the season very strongly and got Coach Collins his 500th win.

Nice stadium and new locker rooms.
Some nice donations recently have really helped.

Heard they have plans for a multi-field complex for both their own use and for hosting tournaments.

The amount of land owned by the school is amazing!
Not sure of the future plans for it, but there are several acres of grasslands and forest.

The school itself doesn't really have that "campus feel" that you might find at a more traditional state school.

It's less than 15 minutes to downtown St Louis, and is in a nice community.

SIU-E has primarily had a "commuter school" reputation until recently.

OVC is a lower to mid level D-1 conference. The addition of Belmont really upgrades the baseball competitiveness!

Coach Collins may be retiring soon? Heard he might after his 500th win?
Coach Stoecklin is the heir apparent.

They draw a lot of kids from the St Louis Metro area, which has produced some very good players recently. (Ryan Howard, David Freese, Max Scherzer)

Overall,I think it 's a decent school, academically, and they do have a real strong emphasis on their sports, both Men's & Women's.
No football, but usually strong in S****r, Swimming, etc.

My Son had nothing but good things to say about SIU-E, but we live about 45 minutes from Campus, and he was looking for more of the "going away to school" experience, which I agree is a good thing.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them at or near the top of the OVC over the next several years.
Found this strain and I see that the HC is now working in fundraising for athletics and coach Stoecklin is acting head coach.

Some of the much older discussions were not very positive, but it seems like they've done well in their transition to D-I. We have some local kids (non-athletes) who have gone there to school and really like it.

Any other insight is greatly appreciated.
