My HS baseball team has claimed the "Snack Shack" for four weeks this spring to help raise money for trips to Beijing and Tokyo to play some ball.

The Snack Shack is open during lunch hour and students come by and purchase whatever is being sold that day.

I need more ideas for EASY, cost-efficient snacks/foods that HS kids would want to buy. So far I have the following ideas, but need more:

*Ramen Cups (very popular over here)
*Ice Cream Blizzards
*'-ito' Pies (choice of Doritos, Cheetohs, Fritos, or Tostitos with chili and cheese on top)
*Stuffed baked potatoes on St Patrick's Day
*Hot Dog Day

The Shack has a microwave, oven, stove, and fridge. Does anyone have more great ideas for us?

Thanks!!

Fried Snickers......mmmmmmmmm. droooll... A delicious heart attack on a stick.

Ice cream novelties.
Can you get someone to donate a slushie machine for the month? Syrup and ice are dirt cheap, and everyone loves slushies.
I've worked in snack bars, and sweet stuff goes over well. Not chocolatey, though. starburst, sour-patch, things like that.
chili cheese fries

chocolate dipped strawberries

frozen chocolate dipped bananas

freshly popped microwave popcorn

LEMON SHAKE-UP

1/2 lemon
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 c. crushed ice

Thoroughly juice the lemon half and cut into quarters. Put both fruit and juice into a 16 ounce disposable glass. Add the sugar, water, and crushed ice. Stir drink by pouring back and forth between two glasses several times. Add very cold water to fill glass, then enjoy.

Now I'm hungry!
Raffle something. If your a non-profit,even if your not, a donation of an older car, weekend at a vacation home, time share, fishing trip, Tickets to sporting events, etc... at $10-$20 will get the parents involved. A rummage sale is another great fund raiser

My son went to Japan last summer and played. Had a great time. Make sure all T's are crossed and I's dotted when it comes to lodging. Our group had some problems at check out.

Hey, Doughnutman. I thought you'd come up with something better than that. Wink

All Krak needs is a contact with a C-130. I remember back in the days of limited distribution, I flew on a military hop with more than a few cases of Coors on board.

One of our LLs sold Krispy Kremes for a fundraiser one year. My kid was able to sell only half his allotment since we ate the rest before he got a chance. Big Grin

Dried Squid Rings, anyone?

Thanks for all the great ideas!!!

One non-food idea we have is for all the players to be out there at lunch for a week, in chairs and in a row, and for $10 a donor can temp-color and stiff-gel their hair any way they like - also face-paint (all monitored for appropriateness of course). I was just joking when I mentioned it once after practice, but the guys were all over it.
A good game time fund raiser is a 50/50 raffle that can be be sold at the gate, in the stands, or at the concession areas.

We did it for our program and found that if someone knows they have a chance to "win" they are more likely to contribute. The most profitable way is to do pregame sales with the winner announced in the middle of the 4th inning, and then sales begin for another 50/50 after the winner and the winning amount is announced. That new winner is announced after the game. Besides scratching that "gambling itch" everyone has, it keeps the fans at the game and at the concession stands
until the end. Our best turnout was selling 1 ticket for $5 or 3 for $10. The only over head are the tickets. Easy math...50 people buying the 10 dollar package brings in $250 towards the trip and a happy $250 dollar winner in the stands. With 2 raffles a game, Cha-Ching.....minimal effort maximuim gain and a little entertainment for the participants. You can also do a 50/25/25 payout so there are 2 happy winners per drawing.

rz1, we did this last year and announced the winner as my guys were out on D for the 7th inning.....my third baseman, catcher, and the first base coach had chipped in together on the $10 ticket, and this is the result.....

Kidding of course - excellent idea!! I think our school has a large stash of tickets locked up somewhere that we could use for this.
This is Korea, right Krak? How about a Kimchee(sp?) eating contest? It would at least bring out more people and I would pay to see that. Of course, you would need to rent some porto potties so it may end up costing you money. Wink

You can also try the old reliable guess how many gumballs are in a jar contest. $1.00-$5.00 a guess. Winner gets the gumballs and instant popularity from his classmates.
