Snyder won the 3A championship with Bollinger (coaches son) pitching the complete 8 inning game. His dad was on the mound for Snyder last time they won State (1983?). There was a report that all but one of the previous championship team showed up at the game, without anyone organizing the gathering. They all just decided individually to make the trip.
Snyder is a special place for baseball. I've never actually been there, but last year at the THSBCA convention, Joe Ray Halsey was inducted into the Hall of Fame. It was neat hearing about his time there and what a great relationship he had with his players. There were many of his former players there to watch his induction in support of him. I was very impressed.
