After sitting thru this ridiculous Ohio spring weather.....the season is finally here!!! Our season opener was supposed to be Saturday the 28th....but due to weather, it was cancelled. The Seniors left for NYC later that night...and missed the opener last Tuesday. Got a DH in on Saturday...then another game tonight! 3 games in, son is 5-10, with 2 HR's (with a grand slam) and 11 RBI. First 2 HR's as a varsity player....needless to say he's had a pretty good 3 days Weather looks awful for the rest of the week....we'll be lucky to get on the field again. At this point, the team is just glad to be getting on the field. Ohio weather

Curse that "Lake Effect"!!!!

Congrats on the start of the season...finally....I lived in Akron for about a minute, much prefer the 80's this week in Georgia

My kid played AA in Erie...sits right on the lake. He didnt warm up until late may....

Born and raised in Erie,PA. (about 15 minutes from park). Biggest "celebrities" I saw were Todd Zeile & Pete Rose Jr. That was before the Tigers brought AA team to Erie. I hope they can keep team there. Cost of living is really low. Now I am in New England; not much change in weather

Erie very depressed town. The team does a lot for the families to come to games.
It was REALLY cold...not just for a florida boy but for everyone. When that wind comes off the lake...watch out!

I got teased last week at a game there, driving in to town it was 57 and sunny, I got out of the car and walked over to the field with just a sweatshirt on.. Before the game started I made two trips back to the car for more clothes... I should have known better after freezing my butt off for three years now watching games in Erie.
