Ironically, just after I finished posting a comment in the message thread about the hypocrisy of the NCAA, I went to their website to look for some information for our Informed Athlete weekly newsletter.

Here's what the NCAA is now emphasizing on the home page of their website:

"Our Priorities - Academics. Well-being. Fairness."

Interesting how it's timed to coincide with the basketball tournament and the recent articles about Louisville, the UNC academic scandal, and the one-and-done players.

March Madness is the #1 exposure event for the NCAA. Along with exposure comes sports page articles on the hypocrisy of the NCAA. The NCAA is responding.

The student-athletes ads shown online/ESPN3 during the baseball tournament make me want to gack. They're an illusion. They try to make you believe all NCAA athletes are just academic amateurs "going pro in something else."
