Socks up in MLB?

I noticed watching the games today that people who usually don't have their socks up (Wright, Delgado, Zambrano, etc.) have had them up. Anybody know why? Or maybe this is just a new style sweepin over the majors? I saw Dye decided to go with it too along with many others. Is it a Negro Leagues tribute kinda thing?

For someone like Dye who has struggled all year, maybe it's a superstition thing. That may be the case for Wright too, who I believe may have struggled a bit to start the season.
