Just was wondering a few things about soft lefties. How hard (comparatively) do they usually throw? What pitches? How do colleges look at them?

Any help would be welcome as I'm a lefty and was wondering how that whole thing works anyway. . .

Hi 2015 Lefty, and welcome to the HHBBW.
I recommend that you look up a pitcher named Roth at South Carolina and look at his stats.

How hard (comparatively) do they usually throw? I saw him throw low to mid 70's and run it up to 88 maybe 89. I never saw him throw harder than that. Absolutely dominated top SEC teams this past season.

What pitches? Not really sure what pitches he throws; must be curve, fastball, ohers??.

How do colleges look at them? In my opinion they want to see how they locate their pitches in and out, high and low. Can they get batters out?

Roth has great control and locates all his pitches very well. Hint! Hint!

Good luck.
