Son had a solo hitter......excellent! We found it one of the most inexpensive items of it's kind....yet very beneficial to son.....also utilized it along with a full length mirror....so he could check his mechanics.
And like anything else the Solohitter has to be used to be beneificial!
We had one for 10+ years and it's been great. When they were younger it was a great wat to get some swings before games. Now it's a great opportunity to work on the swing regarless of temperature. It can be carried right into the garage.
They are a lot cheaper now than when I first purchased one. We have used it for many years down in the basement. Use it frequently along with soft-toss drills and tee-work.
Got no complaints. It has more than paid for itself.
Buy it direct from there website and you should be able to get under $200. I have 2. One for my home (2 sons hs/college) and one for my hitting school. I would highly recommend it.
I bought one for my ball team years ago, the players really liked it, it gave them a chance to feel what they were doing wrong and what they were doing right.
My parents bought my 2 brothers and I one for Christmas when I was 13 or 14? I loved that thing. No matter what the weather was outside, I could hit all day long in the basement.
Well 14 years later we ended up beating the living tar out of that thing, and it is still in working order, my dad definately got his money worth.
The Swingaway is a more solid piece of equipment and likely will last longer. It does cost more. Site is http://www.swingaway.com. We've had one for 5 years and other than replacing a cord that wore out, which is normal, it has held up remarkably. Sometime they're on E-bay.
