I'm an old timer that hasn't been on for quite some time but I am so happy to share that my son signed his NLI to play for San Diego State. We are so excited for him.

He played most of his high school career under stressful circumstances as his father was diagnosed with cancer at the end of his freshman year. He watched his dad battle during his sophomore season then finally succumb at the beginning of his junior year. The entire time he remained a strong student (4.4 with only 1 B in AP Calculus the semester his father passed) and helped me take care of a home and his 3 younger brothers.

Needless to say, I am extremely proud of him and the man he is becoming.

Here is a fun article that ran in yesterday's local paper. In case you haven't noticed, I am one proud momma!

This is great! I remember the first time I saw Zach-- he was 13, and Yuba City had sent a team to a tournament here in the Bay Area. Since then he's had a variety of haircuts, but at that time he had long flowing blond hair. The quality of his play stood out, and the hair made him easy to recognize on the field. He made quite an impression on me then, and it continued through years of travel ball. I'm so glad it's working out for him.

Huge congratulations to you and your son. I don't think anyone can imagine the heart-ache your family has been through and for your son to keep his grades up and do so well in baseball is a testament to your great parenting skills. Good luck to your son in college. What a great place to play.
