Dr said they thought it would be a good idea to shut down his throwing b/c of the pain he was in. No damage was done but b/c the pain and open growth plates, they thought to shut it down. So he didn't do any throwing at all for 2 months. He just got released yesterday and wanting to protect the arm when he starts throwing again.

Any recommendations to start him on a throwing program. He will turn 14 in 2 months.

Thanks.

Just curious is he planning on playing fall ball? If not wait another month or two, why rush it.

When he does start up go very, very slow. Start him on throwers 10 workouts, and check ASMI or their forums for recomendations.

Get some J-bands and thrive on throwing cd, and start slowly with the ASMI recomendations and then work into a long toss program.

I would do this and ramp him up at least 10-12 weeks before he ever starts playing.
