Grassfield vs. Great Bridge
This game looked to be a battle of pitching and except for one Grassfield error (e6) in the first, it was. Grassfield got 2 of their 4 hits in the first inning but could not push across a run. Great Bridge came back in their half of the first inning with 5 runs, but only 2 were earned. GB sent 9 to the plate and scored 5 runs via 3 doubles, a walk, an error, a fielder's choice with the runner called safe at home and a ground out. The inning started with a double, walk, double, but should have ended with a fielders choice, K, ground out. Instead 3 more batters came to the plate pushing across 3 more runs before Kolby White got out of it with a K.

GB got their other run in the 6th inning against the relief pitcher (#9) on K.Mathew's third hit a single, and an RBI double by C.Cody.

After the long first inning, Kolby White pitched very effectively. He went 5 innings allowing 5 hits, 1 bb, 1 hbp, 4 k's and 2 earned runs. He had 2 streaks of retiring 7 batters and 6 batters in a row allowing only 2 hits through innings 2-5. Connor Jones pitched a complete game shut out for GB allowing 4 hits, 1 bb and 7 strikeouts.

While the GF error was costly in the first inning, both defenses played very well in a game with a very stiff wind often blowing balls from the outfield almost to the infield and from right center to the rightfield line.

Grassfield:
Max Burcham 2-3

Great Bridge:
C.Cody 2-4 2 doubles
K.Mathews 3-3
D.Smith 2 walks

Grassfield 0R-4H-1E
Great Bridge 6R-8H-0E
