About Walters State:
Excellent juco program, among the nation's best. A player had better be able "to play" if he expects to get on the field there.
Very good coaching. Pitching coach among the best. Very nice facility and improving each year.
Small town location, about 40 minutes from Knoxville, TN. No dorms on campus, but plenty of adjacent apartments.
Several draft and follow players each year. Small to non-existent turnover of players. All players (sophomore) that want to go on and play at the 4 year level are able to do so. The coaches work hard at finding spots, even for the non-starters.
NJCAA World Series runner-up last season.

To some student-athletes it will be important to know that Cochran, Georgia is truly defined as the middle of nowhere. LOL
The baseball program is always considered among the very best. Like at Walters State ... this school is not a place to go for development to earn playing time. A player has to be very good to get on the field.
Coach Young loves players that can run. The pitching staff is quality and loaded with solid arms.
The better players all move on to pro assignments or college ball. Not completely sure on the placement of non-starters, etc.
The school is a part of the Georgia University system so transfer of credits is a plus, at other Georgia University system schools.
Roster is made up of all Georgia kids. The lottery money is used well in recruiting.
Program seems to always have at least a couple of pro prospects each year, which continues to bring the pro scouts and bigger D1 coaches around.
