Greetings from the already scorching desert southwest....
I'm hoping to get some opinions regarding the program at SIU as an area player is weiging an offer. I know little about the program although I hear Coach Callaway is a good guy.
Other than that, my sister is an alum Smile
Feel free to PM me if you prefer.

Thanks RB

A crafty little lefthander, Danny WElls, from Catholic HIgh in Joliet is going there next year.

Their starting centerfielder, Kevin Koski, is a burner from the Northwest suburbs.

Struggled to start this year with about 9 losses in a row, but have looked better of late with a win over Notre Dame and one of their top pitchers.

Someone said you don't have to be a "rocket scientist" (their words , not mine) to get accepted. Play in the Valley...a very competitive league.
rbinaz,I am not an impartial voice with regards to SIU. I am an alumni, didn't play ball there. I am a "bird dog" for coach Cal, an unpaid friend of the program who keeps an eye on potential MVC quality players in the North Suburbs of Chicago.I'm sure you know that pre-season polls had the Salukis ranked 2nd in the MVC but to date the season has been disappointing. I think Coach Cal along with his staff will work out the problems and this season is not over by a long-shot. As for the school itself I have always felt that academically it has been very unfairly portrayed and that the campus is just beautiful.Great place to play D1.Any other questions just send me a PM.
