I wrestle, but I don't like it so much. Baseball is my passion. I wrestle because it forces you to be in shape, and if I do that also, it's good for me. I've had to lose 4-5 pounds in a night a few times. I never miss dinner, or any meal. I eat early, lose pounds in the bathroom Big Grin and then I run on a treadmill for 20 minutes (in sweatshirt, sweatpands and snow hat) and sweat like crazy. I don't eat or drink until I know I made weight.
I play football in the fall. I am a quaterback, so right after football season it takes me a while to get reagusted to the pitching mechanics as well as the other way around. That does act as a minor setback in my preseason training. But, I always get much faster and stronger after every football season because the focus on conditioning/strength training is much, much more intense than baseball. In my eyes, it is definnatly worth the minor preseason setback (for me it is never more than 1-3 weeks).

i'm in football, baseball, and basketball......and during basketball season a few days a week i will go into the gym and play catch with someone, even tho you dont get to really let your arm loose you still get to get the motion down and just playign catch will help you when it comes to baseball season, for hitting we have batting cages in the basement of our american legion and we go down there 2-3 times a week to work on hitting, its all a matter of time manegment just playing catch is a big part for a pitcher in the offseason
Most schools (including mine) open up the gym at about 6:30 (school starts at 8:10) so I can go to throw before classes and then go to football practice in the afternoon. Just like ughjoey21, I don't go crazy, I just do enough to be prepared going into the winter season, when I do go full throtle, making me perfectly prepared for baseball season.
06catcherson here. My dad and I spend a lot of time together hunting and fishing when we're not on the baseball field. Well, my dad and I hunt together, a lot. My dad doesn't take as much time off work for fishing but I get to go after school lots of days. There's a river close to our home, and some lakes so I get to fish whenever I want. Except during baseball season.

dont they work the muscles that you need in baseball. if you are a pitcher that is a quarterback, doesnt the throwing motion of a football help you with your curve? after wrestling my legs were stronger and much more flexible for catching, as is the rest of my body. all sports help with other sports. ive never heard of a star athlete that didnt excell in other sports. like brian urlacher was a great great wrestler, there was just no pro wrestling league. ive never heard of a great pro or college player dedicate themselves to one sport only
