Yes, we began working with a person advising my son on the recruitment process. He assisted my son with compiling a list of potential schools, educated him on the type of letter to write coaches, including a video and some school information. Summer before senior year when recruitment was heating up, lots of interest  and lots of confusion on my son's part...our fellow went MIA. We blame ourselves that we did not do our homework more thoroughly. Now he is on his own to navigate. I do not know what we can do now and have been advised by summer coach, other personal friends who are coaches...It has forced my son to step up the the plate (sorry)!

My opinion is to do the work yourselves. It isn't that difficult to communicate with coaches via e-mail, phone calls, and attendance at showcases/camps.  Have your son reach out to coaches of schools that have shown interest, and those that he believes are legitimate possibilities by providing them his info and his upcoming schedule.

Did you pay him a fee for the work he did? Did you have a contract?

I'd rather be known as a College Advisor. There are a ton of recruiters, services, advisors and others that give what some of us do a bad name. They charge crazy fees, make crazy promises and usually end up doing nothing more than you could have done yourself. don't want to go into what I do but if you check my site www.baseballprep.org you will get the idea. I'm with you from beginning to end .... but, yes, your son has to do the bulk of the work. I charge a minimal fee/membership to my site  - which used to be free but no one thought there was value in something that was free. Of course if your a blue chip athlete you really don't need anyone's help but i like to think I've helped a lot of those middle of the road kids navigate the process.

Sounds like he did what you hired him for, assisting your son in gathering list of schools, educating him in the process, video.

What more did you expect, to secure a scholarship for him?

What was the agreement you paid for?

Buyer beware.
