The school that my '06 chose did not contact him until early March. He had all ready narrowed his decision to two other D2 (both had no athletic $ involved). Out of the blue this coach calls. Son decides to take a look, however it is past the application deadline. I call the coach and he says not to worry, he's checked with admisssions and it's not a problem. We rush the application, tour the school, coach brings us to admissions etc...
Within a week he had an official acceptance.

Not sure if it's different with NLI, but our experience was that the coach had checked with admissions prior to the invite.

Most coaches know where their admissions dept stands on late admissions. Otherwise, they wouldn't be wasting their time recruiting in the spring and summer for the current year. It's never too late to get admitted... under the right conditions!

brod, not to worry.
My 06 did not accept a scolly offer till the middle of July.
Now is in his 3rd week of Freshman class.
If they Want you / Need you, they will find a way.

If early offer is the school of choice, And your son would be happy there I see no reason not to sign NLI.
Now if your son might be a early round Draft pick??? EH

If your son does not get a ride for a school, would he go to a JC or does he want to go to a four year school even if he does not go for baseball. Our thought was to apply to a few schools that he wanted to attend without baseball just as plan B, even though he signed early, we always had a plan B.
