Use the communication(s) to your advantage.  Son was advised to send out high school schedule sometime before the season.  Then, later, send out the summer schedule.   (Then he would send out the time/day/field he was playing before each event).

It is a way to keep getting the players name in front of the coach and shows interest.

The absolute worst that could happen is the coach hit's "delete", and you will never know.

Buzzard,

Create a regular communication plan to the schools on the player's vetted list that includes, but is not limited to, spring schedule and summer schedule.  This plan should include emails, but also US/priority mail, phone calls, campus visits, visits with Admissions reps at high schools or college nights, etc.

What can be communicated?  Video, game schedules, game updates, grade reports, showcase plans, academic and athletic honors/awards, etc.

"Demonstrated interest".  That's what a player is trying to do with both coaches and with college Admissions reps.  You want them to know the student /athlete's name.  You want them to know the student/athlete is sincerely interested in their school.

During HS, son would do what Keewart suggested, send HS schedule prior to season start.  But son was also a pitcher, so this gave him an additional opportunity to provide updates usually a few days in advance as he would get a better understanding from the HS Coach when he was slotted to pitch.  Any opportunity to continue a conversation (even though it may only be one-way) is a good thing.

I forgot to add:

keewartson sent out a interest letter with a baseball resume and short video clip before the HS season.   When he sent out his high school schedule, he would bring up the letter/resume email and then add a quick note and the HS schedule.  When he sent out the summer schedule, he would bring up the prior email and add the new information.  That way the coach would have ready access every time to the resume, video, etc.
