Coach, i have been to Cocoa 7 out of the last 9 seasons. The other 2 years we made trips out to Arizona, and are planning on heading back there this year. Cocoa is perfect for a baseball trip. Lots of fields on site and in the area to use. It is easy to wake up hit the fields for practice and games. The dorms are well used and food cafeteria style at best. The fields are not in great shape since they are consistenly in use, but off site high scholl fields are great. The level of competiton has gone down in recent years but that will depend on the week you play. Overall we go for the convience and the fact that it is a true baseball practice/game week away from everything else.
My sons HS team went last year and it may there may have been some factors involved but, it was a lot of money for what they got. They were there for 4 or 5 days, were scheduled to play 5 games and eneded up playing 2. A couple of practices mixed in and transportation issues from the airport. Was not well handeled in the preparation phase.

Others I have spoken to rave about the facility and the opportunity to play early season competition. My younger son's team went down for a summer event and everything went well including winning the event.

My son's team went to Ft. Pierce, FL last yr for spring break and are going again this yr. Nice baseball complex of several fields and lots of people there taking care of them. Next yr. I think they are looking into AZ. Ft. Pierce is nice but not somewhere I'd go if we were just on a regular vacation. Then, I'd have to say, there's not a whole lot to do. Since we don't get to spend time w/our kids, you're really on your own. The coach keeps control of the kids at a different hotel than the parents stay at. They eat as a group in restaurants and spend all their time together as a group. I guess, it's called bonding time for the team. He did let them go with their parents the one day it rained the whole day but I gather most of them stayed in and played poker, the new rage, all day. I know it wasn't just them 'cause all I heard the one night in the room next to us was a bunch of kids from another team doing the same thing. They did take in a game at the Mets complex the last day we were there. Very relaxing but I'd like to see AZ since I've never been there.
