My son is a RH throwing, left eye dominant LH hitter (any sport that uses two hands he does LH). Most teams he has been on have had 1-2 LH hitter total. On his new 14u travel team, the best two hitters (by far) are my son and a true LH player. The coach typically has them bat 2,3 or 3,4. To me, it always seems "wrong" to have the only two LH hitters backing back to back. In that, at least at this level, why make it easier on the pitchers? Even in MLB it seems like the BOs typically stagger them out (unless the team has so many lefties that it makes no difference, like Phillies a few years ago). So I was wondering, is staggering the LH/RH hitters a common practice at HS and above levels, or does it not matter? Thanks.
