Standford vs FSU east in Omaha

I picked Stanford to win this game. I think they are the better team. I also thought Davis had Posey struck out on that inside fastball. The typical everything that is outside is a strike , nothing inside is a strike - strike zone so far.

What a treat, after all of these years I got to see ED pitch!

I can't help but feel for the FSU SS. It probably wouldn't have mattered anyway, but you never know. One mark of a good team is to pounce all over the opportunities it gets. Stanford certainly did that today. I have a feeling we'll see E.D. again real soon.

While I agree with you, I read in the paper today that the ss insisted that he play, despite being badly hurt last week.

Mike Martin should have taken him out.

What a terrific day! Wish Erik had pitched a little better, but the rest of the day made up for it all.

I got to shoot (photo) the entire game from the photo pit. Walked on the field before the game. Field level in the pit with all the sights and sounds close-up. Could feel the whole ebb-and-flow of the game with 25,000 fans just above me...right next to the dugout. Aside from the heat , what a fantastic experience!

Way to go, Cardinal! I really enjoyed the few moments that I got to watch Erik pitch.

We were playing a Connie Mack double header at the same time, and had the CWS game on in the clubhouse. I was having trouble coaching third, as I kept wanting to sneak in and watch the Stanford game as often as I could. Between our games, both teams were sitting in our clubhouse together, watching the game, that was kinda weird. Really glad the blown call on the chalk line foul didn't come back to haunt Stanford.

That's a nice one JB. Toby kept his hands well inside that ball. The kid's really a remarkable athlete.
Enjoyed watching Erik pitch, even without his best stuff. FSU hitters didn't look very comfortable against him.
