One of the oddest baseball stories I've read. Josh Outman, for years a star pitcher, was kept off his HS sophomore team because his delivery was so unconventional.
He later became a first-team junior college All-American at Forest Park CC and played this past year at Div-2 powerhouse Central Missouri State.
Because of his pitching style, he received little professional interest until this year when he was finally drafted.
Moral: Wanna make the team? Don't listen to dad...even if he might be on to something This story has a lot to say about the ossified state of sports
