Starting a New Baseball Team

Are you planning for this to be a Baton Rouge area team?

I really have not put everything together for a team. I am in the very early processes and I'm just inquiring about how one would go about creating one. The Baton Rouge area is a definite possibility for the team but I know Marucci Elite is big in this area.

I wish you the best of luck. This is my dream to run a travel team (albeit later in life dream). Unfortunately, and unlike you, I do not have college baseball experience; making it very difficult to convince players to sign up. I would give anything to be able to run a team year around.

In any event, I would not let the existence of Marucci Elite slow you down. It is unreasonable, imo, that you would be able to field a team as strong as Marucci, so simply take kids that don't make Marucci. I imagine that there are plenty of players for another program in the area.

Marucci is mostly made up of kids from outside the Baton Rouge area and some even outside of Louisiana.

I have a 15 year old catcher (right throw/lefty hit) that would be interested. Have had some locals asked to Marucci team but not sure how they got exposed/asked. More than happy to tryout for anybody.

Thank you 2013 Dad I appreciate it. To Saints9 I would love to be able to start a team this year, but I know that its not going to be possible. I have to learn so much first before I will commit other peoples money and trust toward me helping their children. That is a huge step to take and I want to make sure that I know as much as possible (from the right people of course) before I start actual roster building.

This has to be done the right way or it cannot be done at all.
