Statcast now has estimated swing speed

But can that be correct? They have the better pros around 60 or so but the kids known swing trackers like zepp all say that pros with decent power swing at well over 80 at least.

Myself I have swung at 80 plus too and almost every prospect at pg is above 80 so that is certainly nothing extreme. Thus I assume the statcast value must be either very wrong or they measure/calculate something different from swing speed at contact.

What does knowing swing speed of ML players have to do with HSBB? I can see how it might be great for someone trying to set up a fantasy team, but not sure how it does much for me as a HSBB enthusiast.

Perhaps he is questioning the validity of the data?

Mebbe so, mebbe not. But whichever one it is doesn't really make any difference to me. This is HSBBW and I would still like to know how knowing the swing speed of ML players helps our HS team. And remember, this question comes from someone who spends lots of time on HS stats.
