State Playoffs

In Arizona the State playoffs begin very shortly and I was curious how other teams usually handled this event? In the past my high school has stayed in a hotel for the convenience of not having to make the 2 hour drive before and after every game. This year, after getting bounced from the state tournament on the second game of the first weekend with a very sluggish performance, I've heard we are making the drive.
IMO this is easily the right move, and was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this issue?
