Good Luck in the next round.

Did they beat anyone that counts?

Does it matter who they beat? They beat everyone they needed to beat to advance to the next level.

Can someone enlighten me on the format for the AABC Regional tournament. This is my first experience with this format, so I'm not real familiar. I do know that the winner does go to Farmington. How many teams are involved, what states are the teams from, etc. Thank you!

Double Elimination Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Colorado, I believe 9 teams
Second-hand info --- too much jawing and umps letting things get out of control -- in one word....testosterone. I heard a kid from one team entered the other team's dugout during the game. I hope that's an exaggeration. Before we get 1st-hand recaps, let's refrain from names, etc. and keep things civil. In the big picture, it's just another game.
THe game got out of hand on a call by the ump that was foul down the line. Clearly foul and i say that and the call went our way.Lots of trash being talked that if the ump would have stepped up could have been stopped.I heard this from the time that the kids took the field in the first. Was it wrong in this case Probably but i dont know and a lot of people that know me know i dont go for that B.S .Could have been stopped by the umps and BOTH coaches before it got to that point. He was basically standing up for one of his teammates and for his own integrity. Sad that a good ballgame has to end up like that.
BY the way i chewed a lot of his butt on the way home.
GReat game otherwise

OP I wish them much success. I can tell you from playing there last season it is a great atmosphere for baseball. Every game the players have to strap it on and be ready to play. This is not a time to be up and down emotionally because of a win or a lost. I credit our coach for keeping our team on an even plain. Last year a very good pitcher (Chase Reid) pitched a perfect game against DBAT in the first final game and what a game he pitched. However our kids just continued to play the game. That is what you will see from all the teams this week, playing 7 innings without a lot of emotions.

SWAC, I heard that it is the same number for MMWS.

How do they get to 9 teams? I know the State Champ goes from each state and I know there are WS Qualifiers held in each state. That would make 8 I think, but this year the Texas MMWS Qualifier was rained out. Do you know how they complete the field?
Well -- and there is a host team that did not play in state. So -- 9 teams this year, 10 some years.

SWAC -- do the Lubbock teams play in the New Mexico state tournament?

According to the AABC website, there will be 10 teams in Farmington this year -- the 7 regional winners, the NM host team, and two teams from WS qualifiers.

Disclaimer - this info may be redundant. Cool
