Starter.

Despite his velocity it is his other stuff that makes him so exceptional, this is NOT a 100 MPH thrower, a 100 MPH pitcher. Have seen him go 7, punch out 14 and only throw a handful of fastballs and only a couple in the strike zone.

There will be some adjsutment/struggle on the way up, but he has some tools, that's for certain.

Cool 44

Actually, with Boarass as his agent, he will wait until August 15th to sign if he doesn't hold out. He will then have lost a year of development, while Boarass claims victory by securing an extra million in his signing bonus. (See Pedro Alvarez) Of coarse he just lost a year of earning power in the process. My prediction is that Strasburg does not pitch in the majors this year due to his agent.

that's a very valid point. with as much money as he's gonna command, there could be a long holdout

What do you do with someone like that, he can't be a starter right away, most likely a closer, like the Rays did with Price.
I read an article that the Rays did not bring Price back up yet, better he stay with AAA on a 75 limit pitch count until he's needed. When you spend lots of money for someone you want to know that they will last.
He won't sign until the last minute with whoever drafts him, he needs time off, JMO.

i wish i lived a little closer to his school where I could go see him pitch in person. do you guys know any television stations that cover his games? on the east coast, I've seen a lot of press about him, (Sports Illustrated, USA Today, YouTube, etc) but I haven't actually gotten to see a complete game.
