There is no doubt that steroids have crept into the high schools.

Athletes of all sports are using them, although there is some debate how widespread. There have been a few high schools in the DFW metroplex who have found distributors on their campuses.

My son is a HS junior and he has seen and heard of their use.

Unfortunately, the answer is yes to your question.
When I asked my son about this when he was in HS, he said steroids (along with other drugs) were easy to get if you had the money, but it mostly football players who used them. He did not know of any baseball players at the time. He knew of several baseball players who used the other drugs though.

You gotta talk to your kids all the time to keep up with what they are into.
He told me once that most of the kids using drugs were not the ones you would think.
Ive got all three in my house. A 12 gauge shotgun a 20 gauge shotgun a .308 rifle 3 - 22 cal rifles and a .38 handgun. I got some 90 proof stashed away and some other stuff I got from an old dude down the street in a mason jar I have no idea what proof it is but it will make you think your blind. I got some drugs as well - one for a sore back and some more for a sore throat.

Seriously kids have to make decisions. They are faced with decisions all the time just like adults are. Talk to your kids and raise them the best you can. Get them around good people. Know who their friends are. Hopefully their friends are baseball boys just like them. And let them know that no matter what happens they can talk to you about anything. And then sit back and worry. Because thats what parents do.
