There will be 100 plus schools, plus pro scouts. Very good cross section of Mid West D1 programs, Big Ten, Ivy League, D11, D111, Service academies, etc.......

I'd say this year that the turnout may suffer as far as scouts and colleges go.

The PG National showcase is the same weekend and is in the "midwest" in Cincinnati.

But all in all, still a good event to do.

This was far and away the best money (and least!) we spent on our son for baseball showcasing. There were lots of great schools represented, many highly ranked academically - they put a program together that includes player bios, including ACT scores, so coaches who are looking for better students can quickly find the ones they need to watch. It's very well organized and don't miss the burgers... they're great!
Harvey Foster does a great job with both his Showcase at Stevenson and at Plainfield South. I've been involved with selecting and "coaching" (in the loosest sense of the word) the Central Illinois team that goes to Plainfield for about four years now.
Just a great event at a great price ($80 for the Showcase and you're responsible for your own accomodations if traveling). Last year, I think there were something like 70 schools and 15 MLB teams represented at Plainfield, some from as far away as Louisiana (McNeese State).
In a bit of bad new/good news, I found out this week that this will be Harvey's last year running the Plainfield site, which is the bad news. The good news is next year he's turning it over to Jim Hall.
And I'll second the motion about the burgers.
