I was reading the local Newspapers sports page as always, and I find that there is an article about our team in there. It went on to say how we were battling injuries but are healthy now and look to be state title contenders.

It had mentioned myself as stepping in for some catching duties, and heres where it got strange. It said the other catcher was likely to spell our three year starter after this year.I showed it to my coach and he laughed, saying thats not the first time the press has done something like this.
If anything Im sitting on the elevated stool, not him, even he was surprised to see this.
Not that he is a bad catcher, because hes for the most part the same as me,but I just thought that they overplayed the fact that some random guy who wrote the article thought the other catcher was the main guy and it was his job to lose.

Funny yet strange

Local papers do sometimes accept "news articles" submitted by parents. It's not as if they have reporters covering hs games. We had that happen quite often with my son's AAU team years ago. One of the fathers was, shall we say, pro-active and would send "releases" into the sports editor. No prizes for guessing who always "led the team" to victory!
That's great about last AB futurecatcher27 !

Just remember though to remain humble "as possible" during darkhorse time because it's always darkest before dawn and great rewards come to those who persevere during these times.

Sit back behind that plate, be humble, throw out runners and hit that baseball and you will get reward, eventually. Sometimes, dreams are fulfilled quicker than others and try to remain as positive as possible, and this too shall pass. peace, Shep
