Van Horn, in an interview during the Arkansas-Auburn game Sunday said he is experiencing what he calls the 11.7 problem. His starters only went a grand total of 3.1 innings total for the three game series and he was running out guys Sunday who had already thrown 50+ pitches on Saturday.
Yeah, he only has 26 pitchers on the roster, I'm sure he couldn't find anyone down there without a sore arm.
Maybe baseball should go "Ivy League" and without athletic scholarships. Get back to the days of the student-athlete. They way it is now, with the pulling of scholarships and over recruiting, IMO really harms the kids. Many players in my area end up hopping from school to school as the numbers keep changing on them.

Except in his case, the 11.7 problem he was talking about was the 11.7 ERA his pitchers had Friday.
