I’m sitting in a motel in Auburn, AL waiting on the rain. I’m at my laptop looking around the room at the things I bring on baseball trips. I wonder what others take on their trips. We found this “extended stay” motel that has two rooms that allows us a little more flexibility and surprisingly the price is less than the Holiday Inn. Like most posters here on the HSBBW, we've been making these baseball trips for many years. I would forget an item or two just about every trip so I made a checklist of “stuff” to help jog my memory as we pack. I always bring the laptop, cameras, blank Cds, my own coffee pot a box munchies water, my own pillows, water hose, car washing bucket (explain later)....It feels like home. Mrs. Fungo brings some cross stitch goodies, and scrap booking materials. etc. etc. etc. Do others have alternative activities when you go on trips to see your son play baseball?? I often wondered what other parents do before games, after games and during rain-outs??

Fungo - Fun question! I'm just beginning to think about and prepare for my first trip of the season next weekend. I checked today to see if all our blankets are in the car first of all!

I often take a book on trips with me, but also crosstitch. However, I've been working on the same piece which happens to be "My Old Kentucky Home" through many baseball trips, so I think that shows how much "down" time I usually find.

Not really having a lot of experience with college trips yet, I'm thinking things may be very different? In the past with his travel teams or HS teams, we parents knew each other and truly enjoyed each others company and would always find things to do. Restaurants, cards, shopping, movies, or just hanging out and listening to all the dads BS!!! Big Grin I have many wonderful memories!!
