I have a question, and am basically looking for an opinion
ill describe in detail my pitching as best as I can.

I throw about 72 MPH, with an over the top delivery.
I have an "okay" changeup, that is inconsistant, and my location is always up and down. Its around the plate, but 50% of the time, I can't hit my spots like normal.

Yesterday, I was joking around before my game, and threw a couple pitches submarine style, more so like BK Kim does, 3/4 underhand, about 4:30-4 o clock.
I was suprised at the results
Once I threw like 5 pitches, and figured out a windup that was comfortable, I was a completely different pitcher..
I had the one thing I could never find, movement... Location can be worked on, as can velocity with training, but movement has always been so hard for me to utilize...
My fastball broke with a hard forkball action [inside to rightys] and my changeup broke the other way.
The Spike Curve started around the shoulder, and snapped down to the outter part of the plate around the knees.

The curve was inconsistant, as I expected it to be, but it was only day 1.

The thing that was really intreaging was, I had outstanding command of the fastball and changeup, I was able to paint it on the corners with ease.
And, to me, the best part was, my velocity over the top, and sub is just about the same.. A couple pitches I thought I had more pop underhand than over the top to be honest.

So, in my game we were up 11-1, blowout. So I took the mound in the 7th, as usual.. and pitched submarine =]
1,2,3 inning, and we won.
I had 2 soft ground outs, and a pop up to 2nd base, against the 2-3-4 hitters in the order.

Im heavly debating on giving submarine a shot this summer, but I know pitching coaches are impossible to find who will teach it, and, despite it being eye opening to scouts, do they really want a submariner?

Im trying to make the decision to benefit myself in the long run, and its pretty tough to do. I don't want to choose wrong, and jepordize myself later.

Notes: Chad Bradford converted to submarine when he was 15 years old, for the same reason I'm concidering it..
I need that little edge, that I don't have over the top.

So im seeking advice.. =]

Well, 1 inning shouldn't be the deciding factor. Try it another few times, and if it works then you should keep with it. But what was your ERA, H/9 with over the top?
My brother pitches a little and he can goes over the top, but he can do sidearm and a bit submarine, but during games hes a bit afraid to go to sidearm (unless on 2 strikes) and never submarine. But it can work if he has 3 different release points b/c it always keeps the hitters guessing.
wooo, I got a reply =] Thanks

heres my stats this season

IP-18
K's-33
Hits allowed-8
ERA-1.00
BB-6
HBP-1
0-0
0 Saves

Only 1 inning was submarine. I'm pretty solid over the top, but nothing extremely special.

Since this post ^^ like a week ago, Ive pitched 4 innings, all of which were over the top
and struck out 9, 0 earned runs.

So ive kind of stuck with over the top for now, but i mix in sub during Bullpens

ex. today I threw a 60 pitch bullpen, 20 of the pitches were from submarine.
personally i love throwing both ways, this year in highschool around 40 percent of my fastballs were sidearm and 100 percent of my changeups were from the side. from the side i throw one location up and in. i got a ton of weak ground balls off the handle. i even jammed people with the changeup. the thing about it is it freezes people, when the see something different. try throwing your bread and butter from uptop/ cb, change, and fb. and drop down with the fb. even on first pitch.
